Adrian is currently the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory’s Military Advisor for the Typhoon fighter aircraft and is attached to 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron at RAF Coningsby. As a pilot he has over 5000hrs flying experience on the F4 Phantom, F3 Tornado and the Airbus 320 and has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College, London. He is a competent German speaker having spent 4 years flying with the ‘Richthoven’ Wing of the German Air Force and operated on the ground in the former DDR before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
In his current role, Adrian is highly experienced in facilitating group dialogue with teams, on strategically-important topics in a focused way. He is leading a multi-national project designed to leverage technological innovation which has lied latent for 10-15 years. He is skilled in raising individual and team awareness of assets and resources required to achieve desired outcomes. His style is highly focused and requiring of the people who are present in dialogue. Adrian helps to keep things on track to enable the delivery of a concrete outcome.
Adrian is a world recognised expert in Aircrew Performance and has presented and led workshop and conference sessions in the USA, Europe, China and Pakistan. As the founder and Head of the Human Performance Training Squadron within the Central Flying School from 2006 to 2013 he developed and designed programmes including ‘Human Performance for Aircrew Instructors’ and ‘Foundation Human Factors and Airmanship’. He worked in close partnership with an external partner in developing the MBTI tool for use in aviation and instruction, and published a paper in partnership with EI World on Emotional Intelligence (EI) as an indicator of high performance. This paper was widely disseminated within the military community via an annual event in Orlando attracting 36,000 people.
He designed and delivered the RAF’s ‘Aircrew Performance Coaching Scheme’, an EMCC-accredited (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) programme. He has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychology (coaching) from Heriot-Watt University.
Adrian is a client of Ei World who has been applying the concept of emotional intelligence and resilience in a high performance environment since 2009. Since early 2015, Adrian has been partnering with Ei World to build new programmes focused on emotional resilience, coaching for emotional resilience and accrediting coaches in emotional resilience development.
Adrian is an accredited Executive Coach Supervisor with APECS (Association of Professional Executive Coaches and Supervisors) and fulfills the role of Coach Supervisor for Ei World's executive coaches.
Adrian leads client projects for Ei World which require a combination of senior executive presence, sensitive and careful handling of group dynamics with commercial outcomes in mind. He is based out of the UK and works with clients all over the globe on special assignments.
