Shortly after graduating, she moved to the United States to take up a position at Washington International School where she was first introduced to the International Baccalaureate. She moved to Thailand in the late 1990s where she was appointed as the founding Head of an IB school. During her 21 years in Thailand, she was an active member of the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT), serving on the committee for many years, supporting other international schools as well as working closely with the Offices of Private Education (OPEC). Sally was also a committee member for the Professional Women’s Group, a sub-committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (BCCT) and organized regular networking events and presentations for professional women in Bangkok.

Sally has been involved with the IB for many years, serving on the regional council for Asia Pacific and as Chair of the Heads Council. She joined the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Board of Governors as an ex officio member between 2009 and 2010 and was invited to join the Board as an independent member in April 2011, serving on the Board as Chair of the Governance Committee until 2017. Later, Sally joined the IB as Deputy Director General.

In addition to her work with the IB, Sally has been a regular team visitor for school accreditation with the Council of International Schools (CIS), leading teams as visiting team chair as well as supporting the process as a report reader. Currently, she is consulting for CIS supporting the school application process by conducting new membership engagement visits for schools across the globe.

Sally is particularly passionate about the opportunity to use her past experiences as a Deputy CEO in support of the effectiveness of other executives.
